Best Thailand Beaches For Travelers

in General

Thailand has long been a popular place for backpackers and other travelers alike. With its hospitable people, affordable cost of living, and beautiful scenery, it’s no wonder that the country has a high ex-pat population. Thailand is also home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, and we’re going to introduce you to some of the best Thailand beaches for travelers below.

Patong Beach

Located on Phuket, Patong Beach is one of the most, if not the most, well known beaches in all of Thailand. It is exactly what beach goers think of when the think of an exotic beach getaway, with its white sand beaches, clear waters, and plenty of shopping and restaurants. That being said, Patong Beach is quite massive, so you should plan on taking the cheap mini bus to get from one end of the area to the other. Patong Beach offers visitors different options in the form of paragliding, jet skiing and the like.

Hua Hin Beach

Hua Hin Beach is just a few hours ride from Bangkok. Unlike Patong Beach in Phuket though, Hua Hin is a small beach town where everything is accessible on foot. Being so close to the capital, you can get here easily with daily public transportation running regularly from Bangkok. Locals and tourists alike flock to the beaches of Hua Hin, so expect crowds and throngs of people during the high season. That being said, it’s best to plan coming right before the season begins or right after it ends. If that’s not a possibility, make your hostel and hotel reservations well in advance!

Koh Chang

Koh Chang is situated on the eastern side of the Gulf of Siam and is Thailand’s second largest island. The epitome of a tropical island, Koh Chang’s beaches are a vision. Luckily, Koh Chang hasn’t been hit by the commercialism and huge crowds as the other popular beaches of Thailand have yet, but it is slowly becoming more developed. Locals also love coming here, giving tourists the opportunity to really experience Thai culture. Getting to Koh Chang is easy, and you have the option of taking a flight or driving and taking a ferry for low prices. The island is quite large, so you’ll need to factor in taking public transportation or renting a car when you’re trying to get around.

There are countless more beaches throughout Thailand that all have the attributes to be considered some of the best beaches in the country. Thailand is known for welcoming visitors with open arms, and its beaches are known for being pristine. You wouldn’t want to miss out on these hot spots!
